A Single Thing

1.39

“I don’t envision a single thing that—when untamed, unguarded, unprotected, unrestrained—leads to such great harm as the mind. The mind—when untamed, unguarded, unprotected, unrestrained—leads to great harm.”

- Translator: Thanissaro Bhikkhu

“Mendicants, I do not see a single thing that, when it is not tamed, guarded, protected, and restrained, is so very harmful as the mind.
An untamed, unguarded, unprotected, and unrestrained mind is very harmful.”
